Guess what, friends – we’re Sketching March!

January – SKETCHED! February – SKETCHED! Can we make March our sketchy trifecta?!

From Severance’s Mark Scout stepping into a world of hand-drawn oddities, to Alf Stewart wondering if Ailsa had a hand in this flamin’ mess – alternate realities are colliding in the strangest of ways.

Jack Reacher’s arms remain as powerful as ever, but his face? Let’s just say it’s been resketched into something a little less intimidating. Meanwhile, Mary Poppins’ transformation has gifted her a Popeye-sized jaw and a bird companion who speaks exclusively in riddles.

Let’s start creating together and make Daily Art in March!

* All character bios are the property and fever dream of Fishbird Central. Stay tuned for further adventures from our plucky detectives! Let us know which storyline appeals to you the most!

Who did we sketch?:

Meet alternate reality Mark Scout from TV’s ‘Severance’!

Character Bio:

Mark Scout has spent countless hours unraveling the mysteries of Lumon, but even he wasn’t prepared for what lay at the end of that dimly lit hallway.

One step too far, and suddenly – his in-proportion features blur, his suit jacket morphs into hurried pencil strokes, and his hands are nothing but jittery ink outlines!

He’s in a world of hand-drawn characters, where the laws of physics are rubbery.

As Mark navigates this uncanny reality, he realises that some of these scribbled figures know more about Lumon than they should.

Is this another layer of control, or has he finally slipped past the boundaries of his corporate cage?

Either way, he’ll need to sketch out an escape plan before someone redraws him into something even more unrecognisable .. like a bear wearing a dinner jacket.

Who did we sketch?:

Meet Ian Underbrella!

Character Bio:

For as long as anyone can remember, Ian Underbrella has been the oddest squirrel around.

Out lugging his trusty umbrella through sunshine, wind, and even the driest of seasons.

The other critters chuckle as he tucks it under one arm while scampering for acorns or balances it precariously while leaping between branches.

But when the long-awaited rains finally arrive, Ian is no longer the punchline – he’s the hero!

As the forest floor turns to mud and nests are pelted by heavy drops, Ian’s well-practiced umbrella skills come in handy, sheltering friends, ferrying stranded mice across puddles, and even crafting the driest little café under the canopy.

Perhaps being prepared for the rain isn’t so ridiculous after all!

Who did we sketch?:

Meet Rain Dog!

Character Bio:

One moment, Rain Dog was just a regular pooch, sniffing old socks.

The next, he’d slipped his head and paws into Old Jensen’s rain jacket, and suddenly, everything changed!

The neighbours gave him polite nods, the local barista handed him a coffee (large flat white on oat milk), and before he knew it – he was being ushered onto a bus headed for the city!

Now, Rain Dog finds himself at a desk job he doesn’t understand. What exactly is a “sprint report”?!

Can he make it through the workday without anyone noticing he’s, well… a dog? How did he get so good at navigating SharePoint?

Perhaps he’ll discover a hidden talent for corporate life and win best in show!

Who did we sketch?:

Meet alternate reality Alf Stewart!

Character Bio:

One minute, Alf Stewart was enjoying a quiet arvo in Summer Bay, the next – BANG! – he’s in some crazy, hand-drawn nightmare where everything looks like it’s been sketched by a half-baked art student.

The surf’s gone, the diner’s missing, and for some reason, his hands keep changing size.

“Stone the flamin’ crows!” he bellows, stomping through the wobbly landscape.

Was this Ailsa’s doing? Some sort of cosmic prank? Or has he finally copped one too many knocks to the head?

One thing’s for sure – he was once home, now he’s well and truly away, and if he’s going to get back, he’ll need to figure out who’s been doodling his destiny.

Who did we sketch?:

Meet alternate reality Jack Reacher!

Character Bio:

Jack Reacher has woken up in some strange places before, but this takes the cake.

After saving the world for the 800th time, he opens his eyes to find… something’s off.

His arms? Still powerful. His stance? Still imposing. But his face? He looks like a fresh-faced teenager, like some amateur artist couldn’t decide if he was a hardened drifter or a high school quarterback.

Scowling (or trying to, with these weird new lines), Reacher surveys the scene.

Somewhere in the distance, a villain is probably monologuing in wobbly speech bubbles and trouble will ensue.

Whatever this is, one thing’s certain – he’s still Jack Reacher. And Jack Reacher always finds answers.

Probably.

Who did we sketch?:

Meet Strong-Jaw Poppins!

Character Bio:

Mary Poppins has slipped through the sketchy matrix, but something is decidedly off.

Her once delicate features have been redrawn with a jawline that could crack walnuts! A chin strong enough to rival Popeye himself!

Even her prim and proper posture has taken on a slightly exaggerated, cartoonish slant.

But the real kicker? Her ever-present bird companion, once a charming conversationalist, now speaks exclusively in cryptic riddles like a feathery Sphinx.

“What has feathers, knows the wind, but never flies?” he croaks. Mary sighs, adjusting her hair.

The world may look wobbly and weird, but she is still Mary Poppins, and in this absurd new reality, things are about to get supercali-fragilistic-expiali-sketchy.

Who did we sketch?:

Meet Eggatha Christie!

Character Bio:

In this peculiar dimension, the Queen of Crime is a perfectly oval, slightly cracked egg with a mind as sharp as ever!

Balancing precariously at her typewriter, she writes her latest hard-boiled detective fiction with a dignified air … though she’s always wary of rolling off the desk.

The stakes have never been higher, especially since every case she writes seems to become real in this world.

As she pieces together the clues of her latest opus, Murder on the Deviled Eggspress,  Eggatha knows one thing for certain – she must crack the case before someone cracks her.
